“Les Emergences” were back in 2018 with their fifth production, showcasing new-found choreographic treasures for everybody’s pleasure! After the success of previous productions and achieving pride of place in the contemporary dance scene in Luxembourg and the Grande Region, the fifth volume of the “Les Emergences” presented the following artists:

Continuous file | Annick Schadeck : This piece concentrates on space as the link between music and movement to a composition by musician Timo Vollbrecht.

!MAKi?! | Georges Maikel Pires Monteiro : A deliberate encounter with his lack of self-confidence.

Soul-scapes | Tania Soubry & Catherine Elsen : Soul-scapes, entwining breath, voice and movement, blends the diverse colours of the soul. In this duo, the performers are each other’s masters of ceremony, connecting the individual to the collective, to the cosmos.

Mektoub ? | Maria Cipriano “What do you mean, I don’t care ? Who am I, I am nobody. It isn’t by snapping your fingers that you save the world. The others? But, who are the others? Mektoub?

Les Emergences Vol. 5 – 2018 | TEASER from TROIS C-L on Vimeo.

Created by the TROIS C-L, “Les Emergences” encompasses a support programme for contemporary creations, is aimed at emerging artists and includes a series of public performances. The objective is to showcase the emerging choreographic signatures within Luxembourg’s artistic scene, whilst creating a link between the young creators and the general public.

The Cercle Cité has, once again this year, supported the TROIS C-L in this fifth outing of the “Les Emergences”! As in previous years, the participating choreographers revealed a taster of their creations at the Prélude evening at Cercle Cité, followed by the opportunity to meet the public.

Furthermore, Georges Maikel Pires Monteiro and Piera Jovic, a young and dynamic artistic duo provided an introduction to contemporary dance.  Joined by guitarist, Eric G Foy, they invited beginners and those with more experience, to share their travels to the heart of contemporary dance. This workshop was held at the beginning of the evening beneath the chandelier of the Cercle’s Grand Hall.
