She began jazz dance at the age of twelve at the Conservatoire de la ville in Luxembourg, from which she graduated first prize in 2001. The professional jazz dance institute Rick Odums, based in Paris, was the next step in her training as a dancer. In 2008, she obtained her State Diploma as a dance teacher and began her career as a professional dancer with several young companies in France, including Compagnie Adequate, Areysha dance company and others.

Driven by the desire to explore new artistic horizons, Maria Cipriano went to Barcelona in 2009 to join Anna Sanchez and continue her training in contemporary dance at the Center Varium. Her meeting with Nadine Gerspacher gave her the opportunity to perform on stage in Catalonia and Menorque in the piece A37 °  and she collaborated with Audrey Rocha in the piece Duo in 2010.

Then she continued her journey to Germany to start collaborations with Andreas Lauck. Thus, her journey continued between teaching and the stage: she danced in the  piece « Living Room »  in 2011-2012 and won two consecutive World Dance Championships in 2012 and 2013. She also signed the choreography of different groups appearing at the national and international championships in Germany.

In 2010, she collaborated with Jessica Neugebauer (DE) in the Piece «  Differently the Same » and with Will Dorner (AU) in the project « Bodies in Urban Spaces » in 2011.

In 2014 Maria Cipriano returned to the Grand Duchy to join the company of choreographer Jean-Guillaume Weis for two creations: Frauen Tanz (2014) and Flock (2015).

She is regularly asked to create the imposed choreographies of Modern/jazz dance exams at the Conservatoire du Nord du Luxembourg in Diekirch and for the CND competitions of Luxembourg. Finally, she offers courses and workshops in several private schools in Luxembourg since 2013.

In 2018, Maria Cipriano participated in the 3CL program, « Les Émergences« , in which she created the piece « Mektoub? » with Katia Benbelkacem (Premiere in April 2018).
