In this masterclass, Steven Michel will share choreographic tools and movement practices that are recurring elements in his artistic research, particularly in relation to his upcoming piece GHOSTBUSTERS, to be premiered in 2025.

Currently exploring our spectral relationship to memory, time and reality, he is interested in physically translating the idea of survival and erasure, embodiment and disappearance, interiority and expressivity.

In the form of guided improvisations, sometimes with eyes open, sometimes with eyes closed, the masterclass will focus on physical and mental states, real and fictional spaces, and the relationship between music and the body.

Polyphonic movement, overlapping sensations, physical paradoxes, haunted bodies, invisible dance, physical mantras – these are just some of the explorations on offer. Using these tools, participants will create new creative resources together.
