Simone Mousset

Réseaux sociaux
” My work is concerned with articulating textures around the uncertain, the messy, the unresolved, the complex, and opening spaces to relate to not-knowing. I am interested in creating striking and existential worlds, situated between fiction and a heightened reality. Surreal, intensely playful, and interested in form and formality, my practice spans dance, theatre, performance, visual art, drawing, and writing. “
EDUCATION
Simone trained in London at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, the Royal Academy of Dance, and the London Contemporary Dance School, where she was part of the London Contemporary Dance School’s postgraduate dance company EDge. Her dance background is shaped by intensive training periods with various folk dance companies in London, Russia and Ukraine, including the Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble.
SIGNIFICANT COLLABORATIONS
Simone is interested in creating intimate spaces of collaboration with other artists such as currently or in the past Neil Callaghan, Lewys Holt, Elisabeth Schilling (dance artists), Thomas Schaupp, Nikki Tomlinson (dramaturgy), Lydia Sonderegger (design), and Alberto Ruiz Soler (sound).
